CATS Patrons Society 2011

The Patrons Society is established in 2011 as a one year initiative to meet the imminent challenges facing our activities and continuance as an award winning youth theatre.

The impending sale of Theatre Church, our operational base and performance venue, presents both opportunity and threat. The proposed purchase of the theatre by CATS for itself and the community will remove the threat to the activities of CATS and other site users and present opportunities to welcome and encourage other users to the site to create a busier and more diverse centre for community participation and enjoyment. A sale which leads to an alternative use of the site will displace CATS and give rise to urgent relocation demands.

Due to the obvious uncertainties we face concerning the site, the Society is established for one year only; thereafter it may be appropriate to launch a theatre patrons society for the benefit of meeting the operating costs of the theatre.

Super Patrons may specify that the membership cost is conditional to the purchase, where failure to purchase the theatre will initiate a return of the amount paid. Other patrons are deemed to support the purchase or the relocation and continuance of CATS.

All Patrons are to be named on plaques at the entrance to the Theatre and listed and thanked in the Annual Report. We will offer (incrementally two, four or six) complimentary tickets to members of the society for an evening performance of each CATS show. In addition to this our Corporate Patrons are given a link to their website from ours.
